Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, the Manager or Pool Operator is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of employees. This also includes protecting members of the public using the swimming pool.
A fundamental part of this management is ensuring the pool water is crystal clear (good turbidity) and safe to swim in.
Water Technics Limited can help you improve your water quality using a number of simple steps:
1 – Survey Pool Hydraulic System
2 – Install Activated Filter Media instead of sand in Filters
3 – Service or Install Automatic Dosing System
4 – Improve/implement correct testing procedures
Advances in filtration media such as Activated Filter Media (AFM®), improvements in automatic dosing and other areas mean there’s no excuse for murky water.
What is AFM®?
Activated Filter Media, or AFM® is a direct replacement for sand, doubling the performance of sand filters without the need of additional investments in infrastructure. AFM® resists biofouling, biocoagulation and transient wormhole channelling of unfiltered water and never needs to be recharged or replaced.
AFM® is a highly engineered product manufactured from a specific glass type, processed to obtain the optimum particle size and shape. It is then exposed to a 3-step activation process to increase its surface area by up to 300 times for superior mechanical and electro-static filtration performance.
AFM® benefits at a glance…
- more than doubles the performance of an existing filtration system
- is not subject to biodynamic instability and will never allow untreated water to pass
- substantially lowers chlorine oxidation demand
- lowers backwash water demand by an average of 50%
- is expected to last for the life of the filtration system
- provides quick return on investment
Replacing your old sand with AFM will improve water quality dramatically. Did you know commercial pools should change the filter media every two years? When was your last sand change?
